Peer Review in Online Spaces

How can instructors conduct peer review effectively in remote learning environments? In this asynchronous workshop, participants will explore and use features in Canvas and Google that are useful for facilitating online forms of peer review. Participants will also learn about creating peer review groups, encouraging student engagement with feedback, fostering accountability, and evaluating peer feedback in online spaces. This workshop is designed with a range of faculty and GSIs in mind, from those who are new to remote teaching and peer review to those who are looking for new ways to encourage student engagement for large papers and projects.

Asynchronous Seminar Series Workshops:

Asynchronous online workshops are delivered in Canvas over 5 days, beginning on Monday at 8:00 am and ending on the following Friday at 11:59 pm. Participants are able to contribute independently at their own pace over the 5-day period; however, there may be intermittent deadlines to optimize participant interaction. The workshops will require approximately 2-2.5 hours of engagement, including reading about evidence-based practices, viewing multimedia, engaging in online discussion forums, and submitting reflective assignments.
